What's the biggest commitment YOU'VE ever made?

Could be anything. Mine is probably my commitment to me, to constantly developing myself chasing the things I want in life and not following the status quo.

I made another big commitment a few days ago, in line with the pursuit of ones ultimate potential.

It's called 75HARD. Most of you are probably coming from my Instagram page, so you already have heard a little bit about it, but not all.

*FIRST OFF*: If anyone is genuinely interested in learning more about the program or doing it themselves, listen to this podcast by Andy Frisella, the man who created it . It is also just a great kick-ass podcast on dominating life. It's also on iTunes and Spotify.

So yes. I made a crazy commitment.

One that I have been wanting to but scared to make for ages.

I committed to Andy Frisella’s 75HARD program.

What is it?

It’s a program you follow for 75 days straight. Here’s what’s involved:

  • 2 workouts a day. 45 minutes minimum, each. One must be outdoors.

  • Drink a gallon of water a day (about 3.8 Litres)

  • Read 10 pages of an educational book a day.

  • Take a progress picture each day.

  • Follow a diet the whole time. No alcohol and no cheat meals. None.

What is it actually for and what does it do?

Well, many would think that it’s another one of these popular physical transformation challenges. But it’s not, it’s anything from that. It’s designed as a program for developing MENTAL TOUGHNESS and cultivating that things it really takes mentally to succeed.

Grit.

Mental Fortitude.

Extreme Discipline.

Perseverance.

Doing shit when you don’t feel like doing it.

In the words of its creator Andy Frisella:

They’re (anyone who finishes the program) going to have confidence.

They’re going to believe.

They’re going to feel self-worth.

They’re going to have high self-esteem.

They’re not going to be afraid to go to the gym.

They’re not going to be afraid to do this shit.

They are going to believe they can accomplish hard things.”

“You want to get good at those things: perseverance, grit, fortitude. You want to have confidence. You want to have the ability to endure. You want to have resilience. You want to be strong, you want to be tough. You want to be someone who commands respect.

To have these things, You’ve got to RESPECT YOURSELF FIRST. And respect for yourself is EARNED. It’s earned by doing hard shit…

The goal of this program to teach you to own and take control of those situations (the ones where we make excuses- a party came up, a date night, you’re feeling tired…) so that you can be in control of your LIFE. This is a skills development, mental toughness challenge.

If you start at day one and you follow it to day 75, I can almost guarantee you that you will lead a very successful, impactful life. In every area… Life and winning is about pulling yourself off the fucking ground and making that extra step. Over and over and over and over again.

This program will give you a presence, a confidence and a self-belief and self-esteem and a self-worth that you cannot buy, you can only EARN.”

What would you pay to have all the areas of your life at their maximum like that? To be the person that walks in the room and everyone just knows there something different about them. Like one of your idols. Isn’t that what we all want?

And for the last week or so I’ve been talking to people who did it in Instagram and listening to their testimonials. I’ve been wondering since whether I could do it, whether it was for me.

Guess there is only one way to find out!!

Biggest thing I could say to do that would help it LISTEN TO THE PODCAST: 75HARD: A 75-Day Tactical Guide For Winning The War With Yourself, with Andy Frisella, MFCEO290

I’ll be posting accountability posts and stories on Instagram.

It got me thinking.

How often do we actually commit to something MASSIVE? Something that’ll shock our systems into a new pattern, habit or behaviour? Something real.

Not a little fad or project. I’ve done that plenty of times. This is one of the first things that has ever actually scared me. Like my heart actually beats faster and I get butterflies thinking about what I’m about to put myself through. It’s going to be hard, tough, sore as fuck and tired as fuck. But by all accounts, it will be worth it. It’ll be worth it just to learn about myself as well.

When is the last time you properly committed to something BIG? Something SHOCKING and jarring to your system and little world of comfort that we have built around ourselves?

Because if we are honest, that’s what our lives are. We might move forwards a little bit in one or two areas, but everything we do and all the systems we have set up are wired towards our comfort and making things easier.

So every now and again, we need to make things HARD and UNCOMFORTABLE. I did that last year with Forte Boxing Academy’s “Bitch to Beast” Challenge (huge shout out to Mark, Emma and Steve. Hands down the best in the business when it comes to a gym experience and quality of service). This is like that, but on steroids.

So have a good think about something you’ve been wanting to do or try.

Something that you have been putting off because you feel it’s too big, too big of a leap or commitment.

Something that makes your heart beat faster or palms sweaty.

Something actually scary.

Then GO AND COMMIT AND DO IT. Stay accountable to people you are close with. Tell them what you are doing, also write it down.

Then do it. Don’t stay guessing or thinking ‘what if’ or ‘I should…’ like I have been doing.

Sign up for that course or start that diet or start that hobby.

Come on, COMMIT WITH ME. We all have our thing or area.

I hope this has inspired some sort of thought.

So go get it, go commit.

Something Small

SEEK DISCOMFORT.

ACTIVELY SEEK IT.

I need to do this, for me and my conscience.

To prove to myself what I can do, that I DO have what it takes.

And there is an area in your life that you need to do this in as well.

You know what it is, with enough digging.

So, get your shovel and your handcuffs,

Because you’re going to need to get digging for that thing,

Then commit to it with everything you have,

Lock yourself in. Make sure it scares you.
